The path to spiritual awakening

A sacred immersion into yoga, meditation, breathwork,

and movement in raw nature.

Inviting deep self-inquiry, an open heart, and embodied love.

Are you ready to deepen your relationship with your practice?

In yoga, we practice Svādhyāya, self-study, the sacred journey of remembering who we truly are. Through this practice, we learn to slow down, witness ourselves with kindness (Ahimsa), and return to the heart of our being.

This retreat is your container to do just that. Through daily yoga, meditation, breathwork, and embodied practices in nature, you’ll be invited to soften inward, awaken presence, and reconnect with the love, peace, and wisdom that has always been within you. Not by changing yourself, but by gently coming home to your true self.

Imagine waking up surrounded by jungle, ocean, and like minded people, reconnecting with your body, spirit, and joy.

The Living in Harmony Yoga Retreat is your invitation to
slow down, realign, and root into who you truly are through powerful daily movement, stillness, and soulful connection.

Meet your host

Maria Wada

Yoga & Meditation Teacher | Movement Guide

Hi! I’m Maria Wada! A yoga and meditation teacher from Japan, movement lover, and former professional dancer based in Los Angeles. I spent over a decade performing with artists like Madonna, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift, before yoga became my path back home to myself.

Since completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2018, I’ve continued to deepen my studies with a 300 hour advanced Vinyasa training in Goa, India, as well as additional training in Rocket and Yin yoga. I've completed 200 hour active consciousness meditation teacher training in Bali.

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything I teach. In my classes, we move with intention, honor our own experience, and make space for everyone to feel welcome.

I gently weave in yogic philosophy to offer simple tools for easing suffering and reconnecting with inner wisdom, both on and off the mat!

"Our fearless retreat leader, Maria Wada, truly impressed me with her authenticity as a teacher and person. Her unwavering dedication to her professional growth and practice fostered a safe and nurturing environment for all of us attending the retreat, enabling us to delve into our personal growth and introspection.

The guided meditations were incredibly beneficial in facilitating self-discovery and connecting with our divine essence. I was thoroughly impressed by the meticulous organization and detailed planning of the entire retreat. Every aspect was meticulously crafted, leaving me feeling grounded and rejuvenated. This experience has reignited my passion to practice yoga and meditation more regularly onceI’m  back home in Los Angeles. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to attend another retreat with Living in Harmony!"

Getting here

Available airports: Managua MGA (Nicaragua), Liberia LIR (Costa Rica)

Flying to Managua, Nicaragua:

Flying into Managua is the easiest option once you are on the ground with just

a 2-2.5 hour drive through the beautiful Nicaraguan countryside directly to Costa Dulce.  The difficulty here is that there are fewer direct flight options to our next easiest international airport located in Liberia, Costa Rica.

Flying to Liberia, Costa Rica and entering Nicaragua via the land border:

You need proof of onward travel like your return flight or bus ticket. The flights to Liberia typically have better prices and more options and the airport is also only about

3 hours travel time to Costa Dulce including the border crossing. Crossing the land border can be intimidating if you don’t speak Spanish, however Costa Dulce have a team of drivers on both sides of the border to help you along the way.

It is always best to do your own research, Nicaragua’s Board of Tourism typically has the most up to date information.

We would love for you to participate in everything and make the most out of the retreat but of course, it is your time and your choice! Enjoy your time for you! If you are looking to receive continuing education hours as a yoga teacher, we will recommend participaring in every activities. if you miss some, we will simply credit you for the hours you participated.

Why retreats are expensive?

Retreat investments go to semi-private yoga sessions and transformative workshops that we design with passion, planned activities and all your meals. Think about this, If you would go on a vacation, you will be planning all your accommodation yourself, paying for each meal, drinks, activities, etc for the same amount of money. And you may still spend lots of time on the phone and not be able to have the mental break that you wanted. On the retreat, we take care of it all and you get to be in the environment where encouraging you to practice mindfulness. So why not go on a retreat to share a transformative experience with like minded people ;)
